F.A.S.T.

Faculty Assisting Student Team

Text Box: The CMS F.A.S.T. is dedicated to helping the CMS community in a non-disciplinary fashion. We aim to assist students in avoiding substance abuse through intervention, support, and trust. We receive referrals about students that may have a substance problem. The referrals can come from anybody who has a genuine concern for an individual in regards to substance usage. After receiving a referral about a student, the FASTeam will begin the intervention process (see our interventions page)

The goals of the F.A.S.Team include:
To help and support students to stop a possible problem with abuse of alcohol and other substances before it develops into an increased health or disciplinary issue.
To help students understand that we are concerned with their problems as health issues and not violations of school rules.
To allow all members of the CMS community (including students, faculty and parents) to express concerns about the health and well being of a student in a confidential setting.
