F.A.S.T.

Faculty Assisting Student Team

Interventions:

Text Box: When the F.A.S.Team receives referrals they will begin the intervention process. There are three levels of interventions that take place.

Level One intervention:
This intervention will take place when a F.A.S.T. member receives a referral/concern about a student’s health and well being that may include substance abuse. The following actions will take place:
Two F.A.S.T. members will have a conversation with the student
Concerns will be shared
Resources for support are discussed and encouraged.
**If the concern is compelling and deemed serious, the team may go directly to a Level Two Intervention.**

Level Two Intervention:
This occurs when the F.A.S.T. receives additional referrals on a student for whom the team has already had an intervention.
Team members hold a meeting with his/her parent or guardian and school counselor.
Concerns are shared
Resources for support are discussed and encouraged. These may include professional evaluation and counseling.

Level Three Intervention:
Additional concerns are documented by F.A.S.T. and passed on to school counselors.
Counselor will follow up.

We want to make it clear that all referrals are kept confidential, and all interventions are dealt with in a non-disciplinary fashion. This team does not want to “catch” kids and get them in trouble. We aim to support kids in making good decisions and living healthy and happy lives. We care.
