Faculty Assisting Student Team

Text Box: The referral process is very simple. However, there are some procedures that need to be followed to in order to preserve confidentiality.

Referrals need to be turned into a F.A.S.T. member personally.
Do not write e-mails with specific details (names/dates, etc…)
Do not speak about the concern in front of other people who are not involved in the situation.
Refer any time you have a true and honest concern.
You do not have to witness the behavior to make a referral. If you hear people talking about a situation that is a troubling cause for concern, you can make a referral.

Some signs or events that might be worthy of a referral:
Somebody who vomits when they are drinking
Somebody who drinks alone
Somebody who does not remember what they did while intoxicated
Somebody who’s personality changes while intoxicated (violent/depressed)
Somebody who drinks a lot or very often.
