WELCOME TO THE CAROL MORGAN MIDDLE SCHOOL!
August 25, 2014
Dear Middle School Parents,
Welcome to another exciting year at CMS’s Middle School and I am delighted to start my second year as the Middle School Division Principal. I look forward to welcoming all of you and every one of your children and to playing a major role in their middle school experience in the coming months. We have experienced the wonderful friendliness of the people of the Dominican Republic for the last year and seen the absolute beauty of the country. I am also happy to be adding new overseas teachers to the MS in the following areas:
- James Tharp – Gr. 6 Physical Education and Health
- Ashley Brunette – Gr. 7 Physical Education and Health
- Erin Visch-Krahn – Gr. 8 Physical Education and Health
- Eric Martelly – Gr. 8 Science
- Gordon Radcliffe – MS Technology
- Katherine Chapman – Gr. 6 Math
- Mike Kaufman – Gr. 7 Social Studies
- Melissa McNulty – MS OLC
We, at CMS, have a strong and focused academic program that holds students to high standards in the core academic subjects, the arts, technology, and physical education. As part of the CMS faculty, I have committed myself to the TRIBES agreements and will continue to emphasize “personal best” and “mutual respect”, in particular, throughout the year. I am a firm believer that exceptional effort and determination can overcome virtually any barrier to an individual’s success. The trick is instilling this strong desire to achieve in all of our students. This is exactly what we, as a faculty, aim to do this year.
To complement our academic program, we offer an incredible array of activities and experiences for our middle school students, including plays, concerts, class trips, athletic competitions and guest speakers. In addition, our students will have the opportunity to participate in organizations such as National Junior Honor Society and Student Council, and become involved in a range of community service projects that serve our local community. We will again be offering a variety of clubs as part of the Advisory Program, which will allow each of our students to participate in brief “mini-courses” that afford student the opportunity to explore areas of interest as they continue the process of self-discovery that is so important at this age. All in all, there is something for everyone and FUN is a major component of life in middle school.
I look forward to meeting all of you in the coming months, and I welcome you to, what is certain to be, another exciting year in the Middle School.
