Dear CMS parents,
The Activities Department would like to welcome you to the 2015-2016 School Year. We are excited to start this fall 2015 with new learning and fun activities!
ASA Registrations open on August 26th and classes will begin:

The ASA program includes a number of popular classes for our students to enjoy such as: Arts & Crafts, Soccer, Basketball, Taekwondo, Handmade by Me and the following yoga classes:
- Hatha Balance for ES.
- Vinyasa Flow for MS & HS and Adults by MiYoga
This fall we will bring back our popular Dance classes: Creative Movement, a special class that combines dancing with motor skills development for our little one’s delight, and Jazz Dance. Both classes will be imparted by Instructor Yeri Peguero from Ballet Concierto.
This semester, CMS in partnership with iKidsFuture we are introducing the following technology programs:
- Girls Coding Club
- Digital Innovation Club
The Soccer Classes are continued to be led by experienced professionals from “Escuela International de Futbol”. For this semester the program has taken a new approach that consists on merging the boys and girls classes per grade level in order to encourage inclusion and teamwork. There will be a School Competition Team from selected students of the Soccer III level.
The Coach will select students from this group to be part of the Competition Team for tournaments. If your child is chosen to be on the Competition Team, an extra day of practice will be held on Thursdays (2:45pm-4:15pm) starting September 17th. Please note that for this extra practice an additional fee of RD$1000 will be required to be paid by the parents. For any additional information please contact the Activities Office.
This team will have an extra practice day on Thursdays for upcoming games starting September 17th.
Once again, Cheerleading classes will be led by Cheer RD. This year in order for the athletes to learn and enhance their skills, the School and Competition teams will be unified.
"Giacomo had told me on the phone how much he now enjoyed the basketball class and the new coach, but I was astonished at the progress that he and the other students have made in a few short months! They do drills for the first 1/2 to 3/4 of the session, and then scrimmage for the remainder of the time. They are disciplined, hardworking and confident, obviously love what they are doing, and now have a solid foundation on which to build their skills. This is entirely due to the new coach, who as I understand it is a legend in Dominican basketball. In my opinion, he is also a first-rate teacher and role model for kids learning the sport.
In short, I am so, so pleased with my son's progress and the way the basketball classes are now being conducted. So although our family will be moving this summer, I hope that CMS will do what it can to ensure that the new coach remains, and hopefully, the administration will help promote the classes more so that more students may have the opportunity to learn through this man."
