Board of Directors Election Results / PTO Election Results / Family Fun Day Wish List / Distinguished Alumni Award

Board of Directors Election Results – As a result of the first on line voting for Board of Directors that took place Tuesday May 22 the following Board members were elected for new terms:     vote

            Treasurer -        George Spence

            Secretary -        Alejandro Ruiz 

There is one Member at Large position that will be vacant for only one year since it is presently held by George Spence but he is now the new Treasurer. Thus, Manuel Caceres has been chosen to fill that position for the year. In addition there were two Member at Large positions open for possible re-election. The winners of that election are:

            Maria Alexia Selman

            Antonio Ramos

The remainder of the Board stays the same for the coming school year:
            President -        Katia Rodriguez

            Vice President-  Chris Paniagua

            Member at Large- Kellee Brown

Distinguished Alumni Award - In 2003 CMS initiated the tradition of turning the CMS graduating seniors into CMS alumni. The event is held at the US Ambassador’s residence with the presence of the graduates and their parents, the senior class teachers and past and present Board members.   As part of the tradition, the Alumni Association has named a Distinguished Alumni for the year and that Alumni is invited to speak about the meaning of his / her time at CMS as it pertains to their later career and how, as a CMS alumni, one is inspired to give back to society in some way for their privileged education. Past Distinguished Alumni so awarded are:

The award for 2012 is being presented to Steven Puig, graduate of the class of 1978 for his leadership in the área of international financing and as present Vice President for the Private Sector and Non-Sovereign Guaranteed Operations of Inter American Development Bank. We look forward to hearing his inspiring words on June 6.

world travelWherever you are in the world, have a safe and rejuvenating summer.  Do exciting things and keep the minds of your sons and daughters active and challenged.  Ask them critical thinking questions and keep them reading.  No two skills could be more important when it comes to being prepared for their next grade level.      We look forward to seeing you back here in the 2012-13 school year.   And for those that are leaving the CMS community we also wish you success in your new homes and schools.  We hope that you stay in contact with us and come back to visit CMS soon.
