CMS Band and Choir Concert at Casa San Pablo
The CMS Bands and Choirs will perform their holiday concert on Monday, December 9th at 7:30 pm at Casa San Pablo. Everyone is invited and welcome to attend. Member of the bands, choirs, and ES students also recorded a Holiday CD that will be for sale at the concert for RD$500. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Dominican branch of Operation Smile.

The Traveling Sketchbook Project
For the second year we are very proud to present: "The Traveling Sketchbook Project 2013-2014" which consists of sixteen different sketchbooks traveling around the world. Artwork and writings were created by our first, second, third and fourth grade students. The main objective of this project is to promote tolerance, visual, and written communication between individuals of different countries, multiculturalism, and global awareness. New Theatre Arts Teacher
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Jack Dod is joining CMS from New York City. While in New York he completed a degree at NYU, taught, acted, wrote, directed, and designed sound professionally. Jack's original plays have been produced around the world, including Portland, New York, and Dublin. Choir and Band Trip to Toronto
The Symphonic Band and HS Advanced Choir just finished a very successful trip to Toronto, ON, Canada. While there they participated in the Music Alive festival in Richmond Hill and the band received a rating of Platinum and the choir received a rating of Gold. Fine Art Dominican Festival
On February 21st the Fine Arts team will host the Fine Arts Dominican Festival. This event will take place outside of the Fine Arts Pavillion during the school day. Dominican artists, artisans, and food vendors will be invited to CMS and students will have a chance to purchase their wares. Actors portraying traditional Dominican roles will mix with the crowds throughout the day and musicians will entertain with merengue music. Parents are more than welcome to come experience this festival.

The Fine Arts Showcase took place on November 1st this year. Students thrilled the audience with exciting music, dancing, and drama. The perimeter of the gym displayed the creative works of students in 2D and 3D art classes and Jenifer Norman's classes demonstrated what they were doing in her technology classes. Fine Arts/Technology Showcase
On Thursday, November 1st CMS will host this year's first Fine Arts/Technology showcase in the CMS gym. The doors will open at 6:30 pm and the talent show performance will begin at 7:00 pm. This event will feature an art exhibition of students' works from the MS and HS art classes. For the first time the technology department will also display projects being created in their classes and with their extra-curricular clubs. Congratulations to the visual arts students and staff. Despite the wet weather, many people came to the CMS pavilion to celebrate and purchase works of art created by CMS students. Helping Hands raised RD$55,000.00 and all of the money went towards Futuro Posible.

The High School is performing the musical GREASE on Wednesday, April 25th and Thursday, April 26th in the school gym. This production is the PG rated "school version" of GREASE, so it is appropriate for all ages. Performances start at 7:00pm.
Tickets are on sale at the cashier, at the MS and HS offices, or from Ms. Baird. They will also be on sale the week of the show during MS and HS lunch time. The cost is RD $300 if you buy your ticket in advance or RD $400 if you buy it at the door the night of the show.
