The Traveling Sketchbook
What is the Traveling Sketchbook Project?
"The Traveling Sketchbook Project 2012-2013" consists of ten different sketchbooks traveling around the world. Under the direction of Raquel Baez, Artworks and writings were created by our first, second, and third grade students. The main objective of this project is to promote tolerance, visual and written communication between individuals of different countries, multiculturalism, and global awareness. Seussical the Musical
Over 75 Elementary and Middle School students are participating in this year’s holiday musical SEUSSICAL…..developed from the creative imaginings of the amazing artistic mind of Dr. Seuss. The play follows the stories of Horton the Elephant, JoJo the Who, Mayzie LaBird and her Nest, Gertrude McFuzz, and even includes a rounding rendition of Green Eggs and Ham! Musical Auditions

HELPING HANDS ART EXHIBIT
The Fine Arts Department hosted the annual Helping Hands event on Thursday, May 3. This yearly occasion at CMS is another way that we as a community support local community service organizations by auctioning off students' artwork--elementary, middle, and high school--they have created over the past year. Helping Hands
Congratulations to the visual arts students and staff. Despite the wet weather, many people came to the CMS pavilion to celebrate and purchase works of art created by CMS students. Helping Hands raised RD$55,000.00 and all of the money went towards Futuro Posible.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING HEARTCARE DOMINICANA!
During the week of April 16th through 20th, CMS held its annual Heartcare Dominicana fundraising event. This organization helps less fortunate children with congenital heart disease. In addition to monetary donations, the Elementary School hosted several events to help raise awareness for this worthy cause. Students participated in an all-school walk and attended a Zumbathon during recess time. The ES Student Council raised RD $12,000 by selling paper hearts that students and teachers could ...
