TED is an organization that organizes conferences of 18 minutes or less since 1984 with the purpose of provoking critical thinking under the motto of “Ideas worth spreading”. They bring together the most important thinkers and creators of the world in various disciplines such as: technology, entertainment, design, science, humanities, business and development to direct the well-known TED Talks. Among those speakers are Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson, Elizabeth Gilbert and Simon Sinek.
With the aim that these ideas reach a greater number of people, TED created TEDx, a program of independently organized events which seek to incorporate relevant topics for the community where the events are held.

On Wednesday, September 4, 2019 we held the Welcome Reception & Parent Assembly I.
During this evening, the Board of Directors and Administration presented a brief overview of last year’s highlights as well as our goals for this new school year, where our primary focus is teaching, learning and the well-rounded development of our students.
Among those who attended were Board of Directors members, PTO, parents, alumni, as well as CMS leadership and staff, as we come together to build a stronger community focused on excellence.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and five-time NBA All-Star Al Horford of the Philadelphia 76ers, held the first Jr. NBA camp in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic at the CMS Shark Center from July 25 to 27, 2019.
We were honored to open our doors for the first Jr. NBA camp in the Dominican Republic. We strongly believe in the benefit of sports and youth development, as well as programs that benefit and contribute to the community. We are sure participants had an enriching educational experience filled with personal and athletic growth.
The three-day camp hosted 108 local boys and girls (ages 14-16) from under-served communities across the Dominican Republic selected by Horford’s non-profit organization, La Tribu de Quisqueya. Among the participants, 12 students from CMS Maintenance staff families had the opportunity to take part of this experience.
The camp format, led by the NBA and Horford, featured on-court drills, competitions and scrimmages, along with life skills sessions run by NBA coaches, trainers and staff to instill core values consistent with Jr. NBA principles, such as teamwork, respect, determination and community.
